11   Day of Pentecost
Living God, we praise you for the witness and joy the churches of Kenya and Tanzania bring to the world.  Let us join our voices in rejoicing.  Alleluia! Come, Holy Spirit!

  1. Pray that God's transforming Spirit will continue to inspire and guide leaders in revitalizing congregations
to be centers for mission.  May they discern what God wants them to be and do, and may ELCA members
passionately witness to their faith and invite others to be followers of Jesus Christ.

Thank God for volunteer librarian Virengia Houston and volunteer teachers Joshua Auchenbach, Kendra Swanson, Daniel Lichtenberger and Amy Wicks, who serve at the Evanjelicke Lyceum in Bratislava, Slovakia, part of the educational ministry of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in the Slovak Republic.

   Matthias, Apostle
Pray that the Holy Spirit will raise up leaders for the harvest -- that dedicated Christian people who have the gifts for planting seeds of hope, love, justice and discipleship will respond to the call for developers of new ministries in fruitful vineyards across this country.

Pray that God may guide and lead Sarah Harrold as she nears the end of her internship at the American Church in Berlin and returns to Luther Seminary.  Thank God for the way God's Church is enriched by global exchange.

  1. Living Waters Community Lutheran Church in Waupaca, Wis., is anticipating formal organization as a
congregation of the ELCA.  Thank God for its growth in numbers, discipleship and stewardship, and for all
who have accompanied this mission in its development, especially its founding congregation, Trinity
Lutheran, Waupaca.

  1. Pray for administrative assistants, secretaries, managers, receptionists and others who serve in ELCA
congregations, agencies and institutions.  Ask that they may be valued and that they may see their positions
as opportunities to serve God by serving people well.

   The Holy Trinity
Triune God, as the churches of Malawi and Zambia struggle in a cycle of drought and flood, give them strength and wisdom to feed the hungry and announce the good news of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

  1. Pray for Nancy Stevenson, an English teacher at Makumira University College of Tumaini University,
the senior seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT), and for the ELCT's
educational ministry.

Ask God to guide people in the ELCA Corporate Social Responsibility ministry and shareholders as they encourage boards of directors to develop policies to protect the human rights of employees and others in their sphere of influence and seek ways for their companies to be good stewards of God's creation.

  1. Thank God for Pastor Richard Young's ministry in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guyana (ELCG).
As pastor he serves in a new parish of four congregations in Georgetown.  Also a medical doctor, Young
coordinates and develops health programs for the ELCG.
